Early Jetliners to Florida

Trans World Airlines In the 1950's, Trans World Airlines (TWA) was operating both domestic routes and the second largest international route system from the U.S.A. after Pan American. Florida service was inaugurated in January, 1959 using Lockheed Constellation propeller aircraft on a St. Louis - Nashville - Atlanta - Tampa - Miami route. In 1963, the props were replaced with Boeing 707's from St. Louis to Tampa and Miami.
